We helped a manufacturer in the health sector build organically after twenty years of trading

Our involvement began during the earliest planning stages of the growth program and ended with the successful creation of a £1m brand.

Our Approach, we identified three critical needs:

  • After an initial consultation to propose an Exit strategy we identified a need for the business to innovate and grow its current market position both in the UK and globally in advance of any exit strategy planning

  • Developed a program to secure a successful launch of a new product to the market in time for the following season with a three year plan for growth

  • Identified what actions were necessary on the core business to ensure the business could run successfully without the direct involvement of the business owner

Our first priority was engagement: to ensure that the goals of business owner were clarified and aligned, and that they would remain that way once we were gone.

We held workshops with a core team of stakeholders to generate options for growth to ensure best route for growth was agreed based upon meeting the business owners’ long term plans for exit.

The outcome

The business established on schedule, with the bedding-down process relatively painless thanks largely to the work done during the engagement process. As a consequence, the core business received a seamless service, unaware that major organisational changes were taking place.

We helped a leisure brand establish a franchise operation in the UK.

Our involvement began during the earliest planning stages of the franchise development program through to the successful creation of a franchise system, supporting 4 franchisees within year one and targeting up to 10 further franchisees in year two.

Our Approach, we identified four critical needs:

  • Developed a multi stage process to secure a successful launch of the franchise within the agreed timeframe as outlined by the client

  • Identified what actions were necessary on the core business to ensure the business could run successfully without the direct involvement of the business owner

  • Established an ongoing development program to support the early franchise needs as franchisees were recruited and the business grew

  • Outlined additional resources necessary for a successful franchise launch within the timeframes outlined by the client

The outcome

The franchise business was successfully launched on schedule. The projected 8 stage process was implemented by the business owner and her team. As a consequence, the core business went through some changes to ensure it was ready for growth. Some systems, finance, organisational structure, team and sales and marketing were all crucial elements to this process.

Four franchisees came on board within 5 months of the project start and the forecast is for a further 4 by the close of this year.
